Main plot

The anime sets the stage for a friendship between two polar opposites: Gaku, an introverted hacker with a brilliant mind for computers, and Haru, a charismatic, fast-thinking and eloquent man. The story is about the two who started a business called “Trillion Game” in order to realise their dream of making a trillion dollars.

First episode

At first, the two protagonists only attended the same junior high school and didn’t know each other very well, but then something happened.

One day, Gaku spent all his savings on a laptop, the most expensive thing he’d ever bought in his life. However, his cautious behaviour attracted the attention of some delinquents. When he reached the car park, they attacked him. Gaku, being so weak, could only plead with them to let him go. Just as they were about to grab the laptop, Haru stepped in.

Not only is Haru handsome, but he’s also very skilled and unafraid to confront the criminals. He easily takes them down by himself. However, just as the fight ended, a lorry began pulling out nearby. Realizing the lorry had moved, Haru immediately fled the scene with Gaku. The lorry had been blocking the view of a CCTV camera, but now the camera had recorded the crime scene. Haru understood that if the fight was caught on tape, it could jeopardize his future education.

Feeling guilty for putting Haru in this situation, Gaku came up with a solution. He dismantled his new computer and used his skills to hack into the surveillance system and delete the footage. Haru, a complete novice when it comes to computers, was amazed. He never expected the quiet and obedient Gaku to be such a computer expert. From that moment on, the two became friends.

Impressed by Gaku’s talent, Haru was convinced that Gaku would one day become a renowned computer expert and have companies competing to hire him. However, reality was not so kind. Gaku’s introverted nature caused him to fail interviews repeatedly. Haru, on the other hand, had no trouble impressing recruiters, but he only wanted to work with Gaku. So, he decided to join him in applying for a position at DragonBank, the largest IT group in the country.

DragonBank’s president’s daughter, Kirika, was already a remarkable figure, but the executives saw her as merely a placeholder. Today she came to the company as an interviewer. Unfortunately, all the candidates seemed unimpressive, until Gaku walked in.

Nervous and socially awkward, Gaku made several mistakes during his interview. Although he repeatedly emphasized his computer skills, the interviewers were sceptical and marked him poorly. Just as they were about to eliminate him, Gaku revealed a critical loophole in the company’s network. This unexpected discovery caught Kirika’s attention.

Next, it was Haru’s turn. As expected, he captivated the panel with his charm and clever words, even managing to amuse them with his fabricated anecdotes. When one interviewer questioned the claim on his CV about being fluent in every language in the world, Kirika decided to test him in Chinese and French. To her surprise, Haru wasn’t bluffing, and his skills impressed Kirika further.

A few days later, the results were announced. As expected, Gaku was eliminated and Haru got the offer, but to Gaku’s surprise, Haru quit his position. Haru had decided to start a business with Gaku, aiming to build a company worth a trillion dollars. If anyone else had proposed this idea, Gaku would have thought they were crazy, but because it was Haru, he believed this dream could truly become reality.
